Big Plans

Say hello to my brand new planner for the year of 2017!

I am disgustingly excited about having a planner again – I used to keep a planner back when I graduated from college but fell off the wagon and completely abandoned the act of writing in it altogether in mid-2015.

To be fair . . . my previous planner was really unattractive and frankly a bit immature. I purchased it from a little shop where I worked while I was in college called Francesca’s Collections and it was covered in obnoxiously colorful flowers (don’t get me wrong, I normally LOVE a delicate floral print). Plus I accidentally ruined the thin pages when water leaked in my backpack.

At the beginning of 2017, I took the initiative to purchase a new planner. After searching far and wide everywhere from Nordstrom to Papyrus I finally found my planner soulmate, which you can see in the picture above, at Anthropologie. For those who don’t know, Anthropologie is a retail store that sells eclectic and feminine apparel, accessories, home decor, beauty products, and of course, stationary! Anthropologie is also under the same corporate umbrella as Urban Outfitters so I was able to utilize my employee discount and saved approximately seven bucks off the original retail price.

One of the main reasons why I am obsessed with this specific planner is because it is specially designed for use during the year 2017 only. I couldn’t help but notice that many planners start mid year, for example, my old planner began in August of 2014 and then ran through the entire year of 2015 – great for some people, but I was not looking for this type of planner. I wanted one that began in January of 2017 and ended in December of 2017, in other words, exactly one year.

One of my unofficial resolutions for the year is to consistently write in my planner and keep myself updated on every important element of my life. The one aspect I love about having planners and journals are that they help me hold accountability for the things I have to accomplish on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Once December of 2017 comes along, I cannot wait to be able to look back on the year and reminisce. Anyone who truly knows me, knows that my memories mean everything and this beautifully unique planner will be my personal time capsule for the year 2017.

I guess there’s not much to say about a brand new planner itself, but for those who care – I am beyond excited to fill the fresh pages with exciting adventures and unexpected memories. As you can tell by my new planner friend, I have BIG PLANS for the year 2017!
