As many of you know, I live in San Diego, California – home of amazing Mexican food, more beaches than we know what to do with, and, of course, some of the most eclectic boutiques around. Speaking of eclectic boutiques, I recently had the pleasure of discovering Pigment! Pigment is a small-scale specialty retail store in the heart of the infamous hipster neighborhood, North Park. This boutique sells pretty much everything but the kitchen sink – I’m talking gorgeous stationary, kitchen and home decor, children’s apparel, and an impressive selection of succulents. I heard of this store through Instagram (no surprises there) and recommendations from several stylish friends, and as everyone knows, you should always follow the advice of your most stylish friends!
Read on to uncover more from my visit and hear my honest first impressions on this unique boutique. . .
The grand entrance . . .
You’ve probably seen several nighttime selfies on IG with this California Dreamin’ sign!
As someone with an undying love of merchandising and retail, I give this store an A++ in visuals.
Literally, all the succulents you could ever need are under this roof! I’m not huge on excessive greenery, but I would be lying if I said Pigment’s assortment of beautiful plants wasn’t inspiring me to start my own garden.
Another thing I greatly appreciated was this sitting area – how serene! Pigment knows exactly what they’re doing in terms of creating a welcoming environment.
I hope you’re enjoying all of these wonderful pictures (I felt so awk taking them), but if I absolutely HAD to choose my favorite section of the store – this would be it:
Shout out to my fave artist, Jackson Pollock!
If I had all the money in the world, I would buy every single item from this photo – starting with the red rose tote bag and matching travel cup!
Now, anyone who knows me knows that I’m a 104% sucker for a cool wall photo op – so here we go! Pigment conveniently provides its customers and every day pedestrians with a lovely mural that takes the form of a succulent wall. Walls like these are the main reason why I’m drop dead obsessed with photography and (amateur) modeling. I have this low-key ambition to travel the world and take beautiful photographs with the most exquisite walls as my background. Stupid dream, I know. Whatevs lol.
