March 2017 Beauty Favorites

Welcome back, friends!

It is officially the end of the month, which means another fun episode of Perla’s Beauty Faves!

Now, this month was a little ~interesting~ for me because I had the pleasure of discovering SO many new and amazing products. I wish I could write about all of them – however, I was able to pick out the top five which stole my little makeup loving heart. I’m sure some of them won’t be such a surprise, given that I’ve been wearing them nonstop and I posted a photo on Instagram with the most aesthetically appealing products, which I will link here!

Now without further adu, let’s get into the fun stuff:

Nicole Guerrero Glow Kit by Anastasia Beverly Hills – $40.00

I mean, goddamn. . . This highlighting palette is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever put on my face. I sincerely appreciate the variety of shades in the palette because it’s hard to find a perfect highlight match – especially for someone with a fair complexion. I literally utilize every single shade in the palette, from Forever Lit to 143. I obviously cannot use 143 as a highlight, but I blend it into my crease and it makes a really pretty shimmery transition or allover eyeshadow shade! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who loves to look like a goddess to grab this palette once it comes back in stock online. I happened to be lucky for the first time and was able to pick mine up at my local Sephora. I usually suck at getting my hands on new releases, especially those as hyped up as this one. Let me tell you, this Glow Kit is absolutely worth the hype!

Original Conditioner by Mane N’ Tail – $6.00

Ok, let’s all hold in our laughter as I have only recently discovered this wonderful product that has (apparently) been around forever. I purchased this out of desperation of a new shampoo and conditioning routine – the Mane N’ Tale Shampoo didn’t wow me, but this conditioner is the shit. I have very long, wavy, frizzy, and unmanageable hair. It’s a pain in the neck to wash and I’ve literally tried hundreds of different products to help moisturize and nourish my hair. This conditioner is AMAZING at untangling and relaxing my hair. I never bothered to read any of the claims on this product, but it definitely exceeded my expectations and, to be frank, it’s better than some of the high-end conditioners that I’ve regrettably dropped $20+ on at Ulta and Sephora!

If you have a hard time brushing your hair when it’s damp, I’d strongly recommend purchasing this conditioner. In fact, I’m so in love with it that I’m considering purchase those humongous bulk size bottles and the leave-in conditioner! Stay tuned to find out if I end up buying the whole Mane N’ Tale line lol.

Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist by Herbivore Botanicals – $16.00

So, I think it goes without saying that I’m a little extra. . . However, I think everyone could benefit from adding this specific step into their skin care routine. As most people know, I’ve been suffering from ruthless acne for almost two years. it’s not totally and completely under control, but I have managed to find certain products that help stabilize and balance my skin. This is one of them. I love this spray because it’s not necessarily a makeup setting spray, but it’s more of a refresher – if that makes sense. You can spray it on your face before you apply foundation to give a more hydrated and dewy appearance or you could even spray it on bare skin just to give your moisturizer a boost of added hydration!

With all the windy and gloomy weather than has been lingering over San Diego, I’ve become more inclined to choosing products that promote hydration. I am also starting to realize that, as a young woman in my early twenties, it’s better to start establishing a proper skincare routine now rather than later. I encourage everyone to take care of their skin and I’m certain this all natural product will convince you to do so as well. Also, it LITERALLY only takes two seconds out of your day to spray your face. Come through!

Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer by Tarte Cosmetics – $24.00

I can honestly say that I never, ever thought the day would come where I’d find a better concealer than the Nars Radiant Creamer Concealer.

That day has officially come.

Let me introduce you to me new best friend forever, the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer! I’m sure you’ve seen this all over Instagram and YouTube – it’s worth the hype! I was incredibly curious but reluctant to invest in this product because I already had a good concealer and I greatly doubted that it could’ve been any better than mine. Also, it was impossible to find because it’s consistently sold out online and in-stores. I was barely able to get ahold of this product earlier this month and, don’t judge me, but I have actually already picked up a second tube because, even after the first use, I knew there was no way in hell I could live without it.

It’s a very unique product in the sense that it’s full coverage yet looks pretty natural on my skin. I use it both under my eyes to camouflage dark circles as well as a blemish concealer and I love using it for both purposes. The ONLY negative that I have is that it’s not as brightening as other concealers I’ve used (*cough* cough * Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer), but it’s not an absolute deal-breaker for me and I will continue to purchase this concealer until the end of time.

Opening Act Lash Primer by Tarte Cosmetics – $22.00

I don’t have much to say about this product except that it’s freakin’ great. As someone who doesn’t wear false lashes ever – this lash primer truly helps in making my eyelashes look longer and fuller. I use it with both high-end and drugstore mascaras and I’ve never had a single problem! I would greatly recommend this product if you wanna take your lash game from zero to a hundred. It’s the only lash primer I’ve ever used and I have no intentions of trying out a different one. Yes, yes.
