June 2017 Beauty Favorites

Hello everybody! Welcome back to my little world of wondrous beauty finds. I hope you’re excited to dive into this month’s selection of faves. Today, I decided to do something a little bit ~different~. I ONLY wrote about high-end products. By high-end, I mean products that cannot be found at your local drugstore  (a.k.a not commonly considered ” affordable”). I know many of you love playing around with luxury beauty products here and there, so I figured why not dedicate an entire favorites post to the high-end items that have been keeping my face fresh af all month long.

Now, before I get into the fun – I’d like to take a second to thank everyone and anyone who has supported my very first Instagram Beauty Giveaway! It’s been so exciting to see my followers and friends participate. I honestly get indescribably excited thinking about my growth as an influencer and reaching one thousand followers is a huge milestone for anyone. If you have no idea what I’m talking about – click here to join the fun! As mentioned on IG, the giveaway officially ends on July 3rd, meaning it is still active as you’re reading this post. So if YOU’RE interested in the chance of winning almost $500 worth of makeup and skin care goodies, check me out on Instagram!

Let’s get into the beauty favorites for June 2017:

Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Balancing Facial Oil – $72.00

OMG guys – I am not exaggerating when I say that this product is life-changing. I went through at least 5 generous samples of this facial oil before finally committing to buying the full-size product and I am SO happy I made the investment. I apply exactly five drops every single night and let it fully absorb into my skin before I use moisturizer. This oil was created with blemish-prone skin in mind and I truly believe that it helps to alleviate my problematic acne.

Anyone who knows me, already knows that I’m a diehard fan of Herbivore products. Using this facial oil has only strengthened my love and support for the brand. Best believe, I will be repurchasing this oil for as long as humanly possible because it’s amazing. As someone with naturally oily/combination skin, I never thought that I’d have to include a facial oil in my skin care routine – but this product is now an essential. I see a clear difference in my overall complexion after literally one months’ use and I can’t wait to see how much better my skin becomes with further consistent application.

GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment Mask – $69.00

Now, this favorite probably won’t be a surprise to anyone who knows me in real life. Earlier this year, I was on a mission to find a cheaper alternative for this incredible mask. I did come across a few worthy contenders, but let’s be honest, nothing can truly top the GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment Mask. I recently decided to repurchase this mask when I found there wasn’t anything else on the market that came close to refreshing my skin as well as this mask does.

– This is about to get a little TMI –

All during spring, I struggled with blackheads on my nose, chin, and forehead for MONTHS and I had no idea why. I used my usual Peter Thomas Roth Moor Mud Mask and a great facial exfoliant, but somehow I always had disgusting little blackheads peeking through my skin. I was getting so frustrated that I even started trying to pick and pop my own blackheads, which worked for a while, but it was truly becoming quite a (painful) hassle. After several months of hating the texture of my skin, I finally broke down and went to Sephora to purchase this mask. You know what happened? After one use all of the blackheads on my nose vanished and those on my forehead and chin are still clearing up. Lesson learned.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in Highlighter 01 Golden Nude – $42.00

Using this product is like falling in love all over again. . . This highlighter is an oldie but a goodie – I’ve literally used this for years! In fact, I’m almost certain this is the very first high-end highlighter I ever purchased. The glow is real with this highlighter and I think the name can be a little misleading, but let me break it down. The powder itself is not shiny or glittery like a typical highlight, it’s more of a natural radiance. I think this type of highlight would be PERFECT for a bridal-inspired glow because it’s not an overwhelming luminosity, but it is still enough to notice a true glow.

I think this highlight is perfect to apply on the cheekbones, inner-corner of the eye, and on the bridge of the nose. It truly makes you look like you’re glowing from within as opposed to just having awkward stripes of shimmer on your face. Nobody wants that!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly – $30.00

OK – I know that the internet and makeup world has been in a loving frenzy over the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (myself included), but on a total whim I decided to reach for my original obsession, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, and it was like rediscovering a hidden treasure. I completely forgot how smooth and bright it made my skin look. Plus, when it says radiant – it means radiant!

I will admit this concealer isn’t as pigmented as the Tarte concealer, however, I think it looks immensely natural in comparison. True, I love full-coverage but there are definitely occasions when I prefer a lightweight look, especially under my eyes. With summertime upon us, I think this will be a great option for anyone who doesn’t want to wear a heavy amount of makeup. Although I am still a huge fan of the Tarte Shape Tape, I think I will continue to purchase the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and keep it in my collection for the rest of my life. *Drops mic*

Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Black – $25.00

I honestly don’t know why or how I was willing to purchase a $25 eyeliner, but I’m very satisfied with this frivolous purchase. The application of the eyeliner is unbelievably smooth and I am drop dead OBSESSED with the sleek packaging. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am huge on packaging and the little marketing major inside me can’t help but admire Marc Jacobs Beauty’s sophisticated designs.

The product itself glides seamlessly on the waterline and it’s great to tightline with as well. My only complaint is that the eyeliner isn’t as long-lasting as I had anticipated. The color is so beautifully pigmented and opaque, but I often notice by looking in the mirror towards the end of my day that it fades away and sometimes disappears altogether from my waterline. Just to be perfectly clear, I’ve only had experience with the black eyeliner in a satin finish – I know his entire line carries a ton of color and finish options so please try the product for yourself as I’m sure the quality might vary.

That is it for my June 2017 Beauty Favorites! Please let me know if you enjoyed this post and if perhaps you’d like to see an affordable/drugstore faves post next month. Also, don’t forget to follow me on IG and enter my huge beauty giveaway 🙂
