Hi friends and fam!
Ok – I know I said that I’d be way more on top of it in October, right? Well . . . life being what it is, I decided to be a typical millennial and overbook myself to the point where I didn’t have the chance to post my October beauty faves on time. Sue me. Actually, please don’t. I think life is meant to be enjoyed and for the first time in years, I had Halloween plans! This year, I decided to dress up as Sporty Spice from The Spice Girls and it was awesome. I hope you all had a good holiday as well 🙂
Without rambling on about my Halloween adventures (and misadventures) let’s get to the beauty favorites!
My life is forever changed by this toner. I think it goes without saying that this product both feeds into my love of all things rose and my disdain for skin care containing alcohol as an ingredient. I first discovered this product on a Reddit forum (I know, who even am I? lol) where people were discussing their all-natural skin care secrets. Apparently, this toner has extremely high ratings on Amazon and Target.Com – so I definitely wanted to give it a fair shot.
I feel like it has SIGNIFICANTLY helped the hyperpigmentation caused by my annoying stubborn acne and I fully intend on repurchasing this product once I run out of my current bottle. For reference, I buy mine at my local Target store because Target is life.
Where the hell has this been all my life?
I would just like to the thank the nice women at the Sephora located in Fashion Valley in San Diego, California for introducing me to this amazing setting spray. I was originally on the hunt for a mattefying setting spray by the brand Cover FX, but I am totally in love with this one by Make Up For Ever! I know everyone’s preference is different, but for me this spray is absolutely perfect because I can feel the mist literally coating my entire face.
If you’re looking for a setting spray that will elongate the lasting power of your makeup, I think this is going to be your new best friend!
So I never thought I’d see the day where I owned more than one blush – but the day has come! I’m low-key obsessed with this Lily Lolo blush. It’s a beautiful deep peach tone and it blends beautifully on the skin. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not a HUGE blush wearer – but this blush has certainly made me a believer lol. I picked up this blush at ApotheBeauty, the same little green beauty boutique I reviewed not too long ago in my post, Shop ApotheBeauty!
If you’re interested in a pressed blush that looks natural and won’t make you cry – this is it!
I never thought I would ever stray from having beautiful red nails, but I finally found a cute, neutral nail shade that fits perfectly with everything I wear – yeah, for real!
The shade Lady Like from Essie is seriously one of the most perfect colors for anyone who worries about having bare nails, yet doesn’t want to go bold. It’s a nice pale mauve that I imagine would complement a ton of skin tones. I picked mine up at CVS on a total whim thinking it wouldn’t blow me away, but damn. Sometimes I genuinely forget how the little things can really impact your appearance so having cute, clean nails is once again becoming a part of my aesthetic!
I’m just going to be disgustingly honest and admit that I solely bought this mask because it looked fun. Or at least, because the concept of it seemed fun. Like any other makeup and skin care obsessed human being, I’ve seen countless videos on Instagram and YouTube of people’s faces slowly but surely turning into cauliflower or sheep when they apply a bubble mask. When I saw this little number at Sephora, I just couldn’t resist.
To be blunt, other than some added hydration, I felt no cleansing effects or special anything after using this mask. I’m almost positive it’s just a fun little gimmick and I am A-OK with that. If you’re looking to try the bubble trend for a good laugh and minimal skin care benefits, I definitely recommend picking up this mask!
Well that is it ladies and gents! Hope you enjoyed reading about the beauty and skin care items that blew me away during the month of October. Till next month 🙂
