2017 Beauty Favorites

Ok friends and fam – the time has come.

I am meeting you back where it all started and celebrating the end of this year with my ultimate beauty faves of 2017! (Cue the iconic 90’s sitcom audience applause)

Now, just to clarify, this lineup is a bit different from my monthly favorites posts because these are all products that I’ve been loving throughout most (if not all) of 2017. I’ve been a committed user of these beauty and skin care products for several months and would totally recommend them to anyone who’s looking to update their current routine.

Let’s jump into the list!

Panasonic Nano Facial Steamer – $130

WARNING – please do not freak out at the price tag of this product!

It goes without saying that this is a luxury item and not something to just pick up on a whim. I purchased this steamer during springtime and it has been one of the best skin care investments I have ever made. As you can tell from the name, it is a miniature facial steamer that is perfect for in-home facials! Steaming is one of the best ways to encourage anti-aging and open pores for a better skin detox.

I like to use this after exercising and/or before I throw on a face mask so my skin can reap all of the benefits. If you don’t believe me, just do some research and you’ll find that some pretty notable celebs (ex. Audrey Hepburn and Lauryn Evarts from The Skinny Confidential) have vouched on behalf of face steaming!

Fresh Beauty Rose Face Mask – $62

Am I the only person on planet Earth who is down to clear a whole afternoon just so I can wear comfy pajamas and put on a face mask?

Fresh has been one of my top skin care brands for a while and this face mask is definitely a winner in my eyes. I like to use this one on days when my skin is lacking hydration and looking a bit dull. The ingredients are incredibly gentle and help a TON with the inflammation caused by my acne.

This mask isn’t directly advertised as an “acne fighting” product, but I feel like it has contributed to clearing up my blemished skin. A++

Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant Stick in Charcoal + Magnesium – $10

Let’s talk about BO. I don’t think I truly cared about using an all-natural deodorant until I discovered this one by Schmidt’s.

You see, I’ve always purchased the cheapest possible deodorant option at my local drug store and never gave it a second thought until a ton of facts and knowledge came my way about the link between toxic ingredients found in traditional deodorants and breast cancer. That being said, I was clueless and didn’t know how to spot a great natural deodorant from an ineffective one.

Luckily, this literally fell into my life as I discovered it at Urban Outfitters during summertime and it’s been the only type of deodorant to touch my underarms since. To be perfectly honest, I don’t generate a ton of sweat or odor so this is perfect for my everyday use. I’m not too sure if I’d recommend it for someone who does struggle with those things since this isn’t the most “powerful” deodorant on the market – so please do further research and try multiple brands!

Real Techniques 203 Bold Metals Collection Tapered Shadow Brush – $6.49

If I had to recommend only one brush for effortless eyeshadow application – it would be this one.

I actually received this brush as a Christmas gift in 2016 and I have been OBSESSED with it ever since. I use it virtually every day because it’s an easy way to add an all-over lid shade for a casual makeup look. ย I’ve never been too picky with my makeup brush selection and most of the ones I own are from BH Cosmetics, Sephora Collection, or Morphe. This is the only Real Techniques brush I actively use and I don’t intend to stop. In fact, I genuinely hope they never discontinue the Bold Metals line because the quality totally surpasses most drugstore brush brands.

Too Faced Cosmetics Born This Way Foundation in Snow – $39

Ahh Too Faced . . . Too Faced can literally do no wrong. I think this foundation is one of the most innovative formulas I’ve used in a minute.

This is one of the very few foundations that I can honestly say provides a skin-like finish and doesn’t overemphasize texture. As someone who has struggled with acne, clogged pores, texture, discoloration, and legit problematic skin – this foundation is a godsend.

The only negative aspect about this foundation line is that the broad shade selection isn’t available everywhere. I had to wait a good 8-10 months before I could actually find my perfect color match because my local Sephora didn’t stock every single shade when it initially launched in-stores. Aside from that, I’d totally recommend this foundation to anyone who is looking for a good, long-wearing everyday foundation that looks as close to skin as a foundation can!

Ok friends – this is it! I hope you have enjoyed reading my many mini-reviews on the makeup and skin care products I tried in the year 2017. I wholeheartedly appreciate all of the magnificent feedback and support I’ve received. It means a lot to me ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s to more beauty, all day every day.

See you in 2018!!!
