January 2018 Beauty Favorites

Hello friend and fam!

Holy shit – am I the only one who feels like the first month of 2018 literally lasted 10 years? For someone who is hopelessly single, I’m ironically ready for February to come along because that means Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! For those who don’t know, I fucking live for Valentine’s Day – it might as well be another Christmas for me lol. In case you haven’t noticed yet by all of my random giveaways and gift guides, I’m a HUGE gift giver (Is that even a thing? You get what I mean).

Ok, so enough about the holidays – this post neither about my tragic dating life or my splurging on Valentine’s Day presents. It’s about BEAUTY 🙂

Read on to discover what beauty and skin care products I’ve been loving since the beginning of 2018!

MORPHE The Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette – $38.00

Ok, so I am clearly very late to the MORPHE game. Let’s just accept that fact now and move on. This palette was given to me as a birthday present from my very bestest friend ever and I cannot even begin to explain how handy it is! I’m sure anyone who is in touch with the YouTube beauty community has heard endless things about this product, so I won’t go on a tangent about how soft and high-quality the shadows are.

I will only say that MY personal favorite thing about the palette is how diverse it is! This is an amazing eyeshadow palette to travel with because you have a great number of neutral tones and unique pops of color. I think this palette deserves all of the hype and I definitely approve!

Youth To The People Age Prevention Superfood Cleanser – $36.00

This is by far one of the BEST cleansers I’ve ever used.

I was initially very hesitant to purchase this product because I remember hearing negative things about it from a YouTuber named Ingrid Nilsen – she’s the cutest person ever, so go check her out! Ingrid at one point suffered from cystic acne and problematic skin, so I tend to listen to her opinion on skin care products. That being said, all of those thoughts and hesitations totally flew out the window when I saw this cleanser was ON SALE at my local Free People store.

I’m so glad I decided to try this product – the cleanser itself is incredibly gentle and has not shown any signs of aggravating my acne. A++ in my book!

Acure Radically Rejuvenating Eye Cream – $10.99

So guess what? Yo girl is getting older. Not old! Just growing each and every day in a positive way.

One day I started noticing the wrinkles and creases underneath my eyes were becoming a little more defined and tbh I was shook. I am 22 years old and I do not want to make the same mistake of waiting till my late 30’s/early 40’s to take care of my skin as most of my elders did. As a loyal follower of the iconic blog, The Skinny Confidential, I know the key is PREVENTION.

This $11 eye cream I picked up at CVS has great ingredients and will save me a ton of frustration as I eventually transition from a young adult to a bona-fide woman. Do not sleep on preventative skin care, friends!

Boscia Sake Brightening Hydrogel Eye Masks – $15.00

OK, since we’re on the topic of eye wrinkles – another great product to invest in are eye masks. I’ll be totally transparent and say that I haven’t tried too many eye masks, but these are my current fave. The Boscia eye masks are incredibly hydrating, which is perfect for the area of skin under your eyes.

Many don’t know this, but the skin under your eyes is incredibly sensitive and thin compared to the rest of the face. You MUST keep this area moisturized at all costs if you’re even slightly interested in looking youthful as you age. Also, this specific product is sold in packs of 3, which means you can hydrate all weekend long! Werk.

House Of Lashes False Eyelashes in Temptress Wispy – $9.00

Friends, co-workers, lurkers – the time has come. I, Perla Chase, have officially tasted the false lash Kool-Aid and am a believer in the art of wearing falsies. I never would’ve anticipated the huge difference wearing a pair of false eyelashes could have on a makeup look, but it’s real.

Since I’m still a total newbie – I must admit the only two brands of false eyelashes I’ve ever worn are Ardell and HOL. Thus far, I’ve liked both types but there’s something extra special about House Of Lashes products that makes them all the more comfortable to wear and natural looking. I absolutely recommend this specific pair if you’re looking to create a very flirty, natural makeup look.

Alrighty, I think that is all I have to say about my beauty and skin care faves for the first month of January! I hope you guys enjoyed reading up about some new products and maybe you too were inspired to take care of your undereyes lol. Till next time 🙂
