Hey there friends and fam. . .
Dang, what a month.
This is going to be a short and simple post. In case you haven’t noticed – I’ve been a little MIA from social media lately and it’s kind of a long story that I definitely intend to tell, just not today. I hope you guys can understand and respect my distance. Without getting too deep into my explanation – let’s just cut to the chase (no pun intended lol) and talk about the beauty and skin care products that have been rocking my world for the past month!
OH EM GEE . . . This highlighter is the cat’s pajamas. I purchased this highlighter in the second week of March and have not stopped wearing it since, LITERALLY. It’s my highlighter of choice for everyday makeup and for glam evenings! I’ve even worn it to my fair share of raves and nightclubs and it’s pretty damn amazing at staying put through my embarrassingly intense dancing – any other headbangers out there? asking for a friend.
For those who don’t know, I am obsessed with Amrezy – the flawless influencer and makeup guru who inspired this highlight. She makes me believe in magic. I genuinely believe her skin must be made of porcelain and her body is pure #goals. Do I sound a little borderline lesbian? That’s fine lol. Her makeup looks are iconic and I can officially confirm that her products are the real deal.
Ok, so I often get asked by friends and such for good drugstore foundation recommendations and this one is usually the front-runner. I will admit – I only used this foundation a handful of times this past month, so I can’t technically say it’s been a staple – but it still has a concrete place in my heart!
Let me put it this way – I only consistently repurchase TWO different drugstore foundations and this is one of them. Overall, I’ve probably invested in at least 3 or 4 bottles of this L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation. I love how it gives your skin a healthy glow and my favorite element is how easy it is to blend. The shade range is a bit limited, but I think it’s worth a try if you have $10-$13 to spare.
If anyone would’ve told me last month that I was going to be including an undereye primer in my March Beauty Faves, I would’ve most likely laughed! In fact, I wasn’t even really aware that such a product existed. But, like the true Sephora whore I am, I used my VIB Rouge points to get a few free deluxe sample size Smashbox products and I could not turn down the promise of hydrated undereyes. After making an effort to use it daily, I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much of a difference it made when I applied undereye concealer! I swear I figured this product was just some sort of gimmick, but my mind has definitely changed.
Now, for $29 – is it an utmost necessity? Probably not. But if you have trouble with especially dry undereyes or are just curious to see if this will help extend the wear of your concealer – be my guest! I like it and tbh I will most likely purchase a full-size tube myself once I run out of my deluxe sample size.
Ok, if you’re a true fan of YourGirlChase then you already know about my obsession with Thayers Rose Water toner BUT, in order to save time in my skin care routine, I decided to purchase the presoaked pads instead of the actual liquid toner. I was pretty hesitant to buy these because I figured they’d eventually dry out or just not work as effectively.
Boy, was I wrong lol. If anything – I wish I would’ve invested in these sooner! I love the convenience of the presoaked circle pads and it’s A LOT less messy. The only crappy aspect of this product is that it’s slightly more expensive than just purchasing the bottle, but I quickly got over that element. I highly recommend these for anyone who wants to incorporate a quality organic toner into their face prep routine! Especially if you’re anything like me and value time-saving solutions.
Please don’t come after me for throwing a clearly boujee, overpriced item into this beauty faves post. Truth be told, I got this fancy-pants mascara as a gift. I have never, ever in my entire life purchased a single makeup product from Chanel before. Am I opposed to it? No! But, I’m also not one to necessarily talk about luxury makeup because I know it’s not the most attainable price point for the average cosmetics enthusiast.
That being said, I totally fucks with this mascara. As I just mentioned, I had never used a Chanel mascara before and honestly had some pretty high expectations. I think this mascara would be PERFECT for people with short eyelashes – the bristles are very unique and help to separate and coat every lash.
This might be TMI but my natural eyelashes are actually pretty sparse. For reasons unknown, I have bald spots along my top lash line and some of my eyelashes are stunted, meaning they don’t grow out to the fullest. This is probably something that I should take to my doctor, BUT we shall see.
Ok, I think that is all I have to say! You guys have been a lovely audience and I love you all very, very, very, very, very, very, very much. Again, my apologies for being somewhat secretive and distant. I swear I’m not leaving YourGirlChase behind – there’s just something going on that I will be happy to share once I can. Till next time friends and fam! 🙂
