Hi, how are you?
My name is Perla Chase and I am a writer, a dancer, an amateur photographer, a music lover, a visual artist, an optimist, a fashion enthusiast, and in the most unpretentious way possible, a creator.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in sunny San Diego, California! I’ve never lived anywhere else but SoCal and I have zero intentions to move away from this little paradise.
What is your ethnic background?
I am Mexican, Italian, and Persian. My mother is half-Mexican and half-Italian. My father is half-Persian and half-Mexican – mix it all together and you get me!
Are you a professional blogger?
Believe it or not, I actually left my full-time marketing career to make my creative dreams a reality. At the moment, my life is completely consumed by professional photography endeavors and fashion retail part-time. In case you couldn’t tell, I have big visions for YourGirlChase and I wouldn’t really have it any other way.
What do you do when you’re not working?
When I’m not at work in my retail job, my favorite thing to do is curate content for this blog. It’s literally my main passion project. I am constantly scouting new locations for future photo shoots and styling coordinating outfits in my head. I am also always on the lookout for cool new skin care and beauty products to try out so I can review them and/or take beautiful still life photos.
How old are you?
I am 21. My birthday is on November 13th! #Scorpio #90sBaby
How would you describe your personal style?
I can’t really pinpoint a specific style that totally encompasses my aesthetic. I love romantic themes and opulence, but I also aim to be as effortlessly edgy as possible. My go-to response whenever someone asks this questions is:
Imagine if Elizabeth Taylor and Kurt Cobain had a love child . . . That would be me!
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
Ahhh! I don’t know! I genuinely don’t have a single idea where I will be in five years, much less ten years. If someone would’ve told 15 year old Perla Chase – a clueless, indecisive ballerina who sucked at high school – that five years later she’d be a functioning member of society with not one, but TWO jobs, she would’ve burst out in laughter.
I like to think that I’ll be somewhere unexpected, but happy. I try my best to believe that there is always something amazing waiting to happen.
Who designed that dope logo?
Umm, I’m glad you asked! Quinn Vasquez, a good friend and former co-worker of mine who also happens to be a graphic design wizard created my floral crescent moon and it’s everything.

Who takes all those dope photos?
It varies depending on the photo shoot! I have a number of amazing photographer buddies and fellow blogger friends that have been generously helping me follow my dreams. I am endlessly grateful to have such a supportive circle of people in my life. In regards to the product shots (usually in my beauty-related posts), those are all me.
